Using 250cc-400cc Sports/Race Quads, we’ll guide you through a series of challenging hill climbs to assess your competence before heading up into the mountains overlooking Queenstown & the Shotover River – great fun, challenging terrain and epic views!

We’ll start off in town where you’ll check in at our shop at 61a Shotover Street before making our way just 5 minutes out of town to our exclusive 650a Adventure Park, here we’ll get kitted up and briefed on the bikes before the initial training commences – a series of increasingly challenging tracks and trails allows us to build your confidence and skill set safely while we assess your competence for the challenge ahead – the climb to the top*! Once comfortable on the machines, our guides will pick and choose which tracks will be the most fun as you follow them up high above Queenstown where you’ll be rewarded with the most epic views of Queenstown town center, the Shotover river & Coronet Peak.
Full riding gear is provided including MX full face helmet, gloves, wet weather clothing & goggles.

Kids Intro to Quads
Tailor made tours suitable for kids between 6-14 years old with any rider level.
During this 1 hour experience, young riders get the opportunity to explore our exclusive 35 acre training property on fully automatic 50- and 90cc 2-wheel drive quad bikes. Over a period of 40 minutes, they ride on our purpose-built tracks designed to build skills and confidence. A minimum of one parent or guardian over 18 years MUST accompany the youth riders, turning this into an unforgettable family adventure with Australasia’s ONLY youth quad biking experience provider.

4×4 Adventure Quad Tour

The 4×4 Scenic Adventure Quad Tour featuring our 4×4 quads! These ATVs are built for adventure and designed to tackle tough trails. Enjoy a thrilling 2-hour guided tour across our stunning 650-acre property, navigating rugged tracks while taking in the most unbelievable views Queenstown has to offer. Our expert guides ensure an unforgettable experience, combining excitement, exploration, and breathtaking scenery.

You should know…
In order to join this tour – riders must:
- Have a conversational level of the English language
- Be physically fit and healthy
- Adhere to all instruction given by Off Road staff and their affiliates
You do not need a licence to join this tour
Confirmed tours will depart from our shop in central Queenstown (61A Shotover Street).
Please check in at least 10mins before your departure time.
Please be aware parking on Shotover Street is limited to 30 minutes, and there’s no parking directly in front of our shop. We recommend using the Man Street multi-story carpark, just a two-minute walk away. Alternatively, you’re welcome to follow us out to our location, about 5 minutes from town, where there’s plenty of parking available.

We just require a minimum of 2 riders to confirm a tour, we can run exclusive 1-on-1 tours for an additional cost, please call 0800 OFF ROAD to discuss
Minimum age for Above The Skyline is 14 years old and must be tall enough and competent enough to safely handle a 250cc Quad. Otherwise, we have options for kids as young as 6 years old riding their own quads, please call to discuss
Pregnancy, back problems, recent injuries, medical conditions and/or allergies may affect your ability to join this tour. It’s a requirement when checking in at our shop that you discuss these possibilities with us.
All guides are First Aid certified to the highest level required for off-road activities and carry kits, phones and radios at all times during tours.
All tours must be pre-booked
- Helmets, eye protection and gloves
- Return transport from the Off Road shop to location
- Local experienced guide
- Top of the line well maintained machines
- Wet weather gear (rain jacket/ rain pants/ gumboots) if needed
- Dress for the conditions in clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty/muddy
- Bring any drinks and snacks you need for the duration of the tour
- Camera & Gopro if you would like to take your own photos
We operate our tours all year round – rain, shine, or snow, whatever the weather!
Bookings of two to nine pax are subject to a 48 hour cancellation policy. Private charters and groups of 10 pax or more are subject to a seven day cancellation policy. No refunds will be issued for a reduction of pax or cancellations within these timeframes. Moving the booking will not be possible within these timeframes.
